本学期2012级学生将迎来2013年12月全国大学英语四级考试，为了让学生熟悉四级作文的写作模式，在即将到来的四级考试中取得更好的成绩，我在大学英语教学过程中，对四级写作进行了拓展讲解，如四级作文写作要求、评分标准、写作模板、经典句型、重点词汇等等。我惊奇地发现：在实际应用的过程中，学生在重点词汇和写作模板的使用方面进步较大。但是，由于学生语法基础知识不够扎实，没有正确的句法概念，在写作过程中很容易犯一些语言错误，甚至是严重语言错误。根据全国大学英语四级写作评分标准中5分和8分档的要求，在语言错误方面分别明确规定，“有较多的严重错误”和“语言错误较多，其中有少量的严重错误”，而作文的及格分数为9分。由此可见，学生作文要想取得实质性进步，那么就要在四级写作策略、句法结构等方面下功夫。在我看来，最快捷的方法就是努力使学生攻克四级写作中最常犯的语法错误。

　　以下，我以2012级汉语言文学01班至03班一次作文写作为例（The Importance of Learning Basic Skills,标题：学习基本技能的重要性），列出作文中常犯的语法错误，并给出正确表达，希望对我院其他同学在大学英语的学习中有所帮助。

　　一、单复数问题：

　　 1.“The basic skills is unimportant.”

　　本句中“skills”是名词复数，那么系动词be 就应该是复数“are”,而不是“is”.

　　正确表达：“The basic skills are unimportant.”

　　2. “All in all, learning basic skills are beneficial by any means.”

　　本句中 “learning basic skills”动宾短语作主语，因为整体做句子的主语，所以系动词be应该用“is”,而不能因为系动词前一个单词是复数“skills”，就用“are”。

　　正确表达：“All in all, learning basic skills is beneficial by any means.”

　　二、词性混乱使用问题：

　　1. “Basic skills are very importance.”

　　本句中表语成分应该用形容词“important”，而不是名词 “importance”。如果要用名词，可用短语“be of importance”，表程度，且可在“importance”前加上“great”修饰。

　　正确表达：“Basic skills are very important.”或者“Basic skills are of great importance.”

　　2. “We cannot ignore the necessary of learning basic skills.”

　　本句中“the necessary of learning basic skills”作“ignore”的宾语，而此处应为名词形式“necessity”，不应该用形容词“necessary”。

　　正确表达：“We cannot ignore the necessity of learning basic skills.”

　　3. “But they also want to success.”

　　本句中要做“want to”的宾语，可以根据词性有多种表达方式。如 “ achieve success”、“be/become successful”、“succeed”。

　　正确表达：“But they also want to achieve success.”或者“But they also want to be/become successful.”或者“But they also want to succeed.”

　　三、非谓语动词知识欠缺问题

　　1. “Learn basic skills can help people to promote understanding in the world.”

　　本句中的主语应该是：“Learn basic skills”，动宾短语作主语，动词应该转化为非谓语动词，作主语，可以是“Learning basic skills”，也可以是“To learn basic skills”.

　　正确表达：“Learning basic skills can help people to promote understanding in the world.”或者“To learn basic skills can help people to promote understanding in the world.”

　　2. “Only lay a solid basis, we can be successful.”

　　本句中“lay a solid basis”，是句子的方式状语，而不应该出现动词原形 “lay”,应该为非谓语动词，再加上介词“通过”“by”，而且本句由于是“Only by”放在句首，应该使用部分倒装结构。

　　正确表达：“Only by laying a solid basis can we be successful.”

　　3. “In my opinion, we should attach more importance to acquire basic skills.”

　　本句中出现短语“attach more importance to”，该短语“to”后应接名词或者名词性短语。如果是动词，就得用非谓语动词的V-ing形式。因此此处应该是“acquiring”而不是动词原形“acquire”。

　　正确表达：“In my opinion, we should attach more importance to acquiring basic skills.”

　　以上为本次作文中在语法结构方面存在的最为突出的三种问题，希望同学们在交作业之前或者参加四级考试时，根据自己每次常犯的错误，仔细检查。
