本学期由于笔者所代的2012级学生准备于2013年12月份参加全国大学英语四级考试，所以在本学期的教学计划中四级辅导是其中重要的一部分。作文是试卷中的第一部分，所以作文部分发挥的正常与否或好与不好将直接影响学生的心理以及其他部分的作答。在进行整套试卷及听力专项练习之外，笔者用了四次课对作文部分进行分析和讲解，请同学们按照模板随堂写出对应的作文，并针对学生作文中出现的问题进行讲评。同学们在进行练习之后，纷纷表示原本模糊的概念变得非常清晰，开始知道如何去写作文。
然而，在进行期末考试复习时，仍然有同学对作文部分表现出了不自信。结合本学期的作文讲评，针对同学们作文中容易出现的问题，笔者提出了一些小攻略。
首先，切合主题及文章结构方面。近几年的四级作文类型，主要是提纲式、图片式及图表式。如2008年12月份的作文：
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled Limiting the Use of Disposable Plastic Bags. You should write at least 120 words following the outline given below:
1.一次性塑料袋曾广为使用；
2.由此带来的问题；
3.限制使用一次性塑料袋的意义。
这是典型的提纲式作文，题目及提纲都已给出，考生只需按照要求进行扩展和总结就不会偏题。这里需提醒的是，作文一般是三段论：引言段，扩展段，结尾段。而且四级作文评分也是总体印象评分法（Global scoring），就段落而言，只写一段者，0-4分，只写两段者，0-9分。
2013年6月份的作文：
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay. You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then express your views on the importance of doing small things before undertaking something big. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.
相比较提纲式作文，学生似乎对图片式作文有所忌惮，唯恐偏题及结构不合理。其实通过仔细阅读Directions，结构和主题都一目了然。首先是描述图片，然后表达观点：做大事之前先做好小事情的重要性；最后一段当然就是总结了。对于题目，最简单的办法也是按照Directions: On the Importance of Doing Small Things Before Undertaking Something Big.
图表式作文与图片式作文结构相似，不再赘述。
其次，语言及语法方面。1. be 动词乱用：This is help me to save…; It is not only encourage…正确表达是：This helps me to save…; It not only encourages…2. 单复数问题：Student are…; The excessive use of plastic bags lead to…; Limiting the use of plastic bags are…; Disposable plastic bags has attracted…正确表达是：Students are…; The excessive use of plastic bags leads to…; Limiting the use of plastic bags is…; Disposable plastic bags have attracted…3.谓语动词及非谓语动词混淆：As we all known, …; … to know the importance of protect…; I prefer pay for…正确表达是：As we all know, …; to know the importance of protecting…; I prefer to pay for… 4.There be句型的使用：There are many parents pay the college…正确表达是：Many parents pay the college…; There are many parents who pay the college…5.词性混淆：our healthy; school, government and social; to solution the problem.正确表达是：our health; school, government and society; to solve the problem. 6.情态动词的使用：must to do…; should to study…正确表达是:must do…; should do…(以上笔者所用的例子均来源于学生的作文练习)
对于写出漂亮的作文而言，同学们要注意的还有很多，如简单句与复合句的交叉使用，同一意思词汇的交汇使用（important, significant, essential, crucial）…以上两个方面的问题是一些同学普遍存在的，在这里希望起到提示及抛砖引玉的作用。
作文中一般都有表达自己观点的内容，最后笔者提供一些表达方式供同学们参考：
